Greencore, Selby is a major player in the UK’s food manufacturing sector, producing a range of sauces and pickles for leading supermarkets. With a critical role in national food supply, their operations rely on smooth, compliant, and efficient wastewater treatment.
The Challenge
Greencore was facing rising operational costs and worsening performance from its wastewater treatment plant. Their existing O&M (Operations and Maintenance) provider had fallen short, leading to frequent non-compliances and heightened environmental risks. The plant discharges into a nearby river, meaning any operational failure could lead to significant environmental harm—and production shutdowns costing hundreds of thousands of pounds per day.
Despite trialling other service providers in the past, Greencore had yet to find a reliable, responsive long-term partner.
